Biography
Leon Yin began studying the French horn at the age of six and has over a decade of musical experience. He holds a Grade 10 certification in French horn and a Grade 6 certification in classical guitar, both awarded by the Shanghai Musicians Association.
Having served as Principal Horn of his school wind orchestra since primary school, Leon developed a strong foundation in ensemble playing and orchestral performance from an early age. Throughout his musical journey, he has performed with several youth ensembles, including the Putuo District Youth Activity Center Wind Orchestra and the Shanghai Educational Television Brass Ensemble. He also served as Principal Horn of the Shanghai Youth Activity Center Wind Orchestra, further broadening his orchestral experience.
After joining Pinghe, Leon became actively involved in PHantasia Classical Music Society, serving as Principal Horn and performing in its symphony orchestra, brass ensemble, and woodwind ensemble. He helped found a brass ensemble that received Second Prize in the China Division of the Mannheim International Music Competition (Germany). He is also a horn player in the Pinghe Art Troupe Symphony Orchestra.
At the conclusion of the 2025–2026 season, Leon was appointed by the outgoing leadership to join PHantasia's incoming management team. As one of the Society's four Presidents, he primarily oversees Management & Operations, including organizational planning, internal coordination, concert production, and digital development. Alongside his administrative responsibilities, he continues to serve as Principal Horn, combining his experience in orchestral performance with a commitment to arts management and the Society's continued development.
